This is the one to blame, Silvia Prada, for making us dance at least once a month, in Barcelona's
biggest party: Who's the Boss! Silvia is not just a good party hoster, she also represents very
well this many-sided generation able to do anything. She Dj's, yeah, but her pencil drawings
make it to the best galleries, album covers, magazines and private collections.
Just like David says: She's a proper culture-shaker!
Esta chica es la culpable, Silvia Prada, de hacernos bailar al menos una vez al mes,
en la mejor fiesta de toda Barcelona: Who's the Boss! Silvia no es simplemente una buena
maestra de ceremonias, sino que tambien representa perfectamente esta polifacetica
generacion capaz de hacer cualquier cosa. Ella pincha tambien, si, pero sus dibujos a lapiz
estan en las mejores galerias, portadas de discos, revistas y colecciones privadas.
Como David dice: es una agitadora cultural!
So once again, last Saturday, my friends and I made it to the Cabaret Berlin club where all this
magic happens and where Mario Vaquerizo and David Delfín happened to be Dj-ing that night.
It was fun dancing to those tracks you only listen when down here in Spain,
seeing my lovely friends based in Barcelona like Sofie from
Stop-stealing-my-look and the lovely Gabriella who helped me out in Barcelona this
long week while doing "that-job-i'm-still-not-allowed-to-talk-about" and, of course,
Gerard, author of all these signature party style pictures.
Asi que una vez mas, el sabado pasado, mis amigos y yo fuimos al Cabaret Berlin, donde toda
esta magia tiene lugar y donde Mario Vaquerizo y David Delfin pinchaban esa noche.
Qué divertido bailar esos temas que solo escuchas cuando sales por ahi en España, ver a los
amigos que viven en Barcelona como Sofie, de Stopstealingmylook y la genial Gabriella, que
me ayudo durante la semana pasada con ese-trabajo-del-que-todavía-no-me-dejan-hablar y,
por supuesto, Gerard, autor de todas estas fotos de fiesta tan reconocibles.
The amazing Terremoto de Alcorcon, who by the way, has the funniest show at
"el Molino" also popped by to dance some tracks.
And last but not least our friend John was there with us too,
in a way. I guess, sadly, I need to explain this photo. But i'll say this, what doesn't need
explanation is the magic with John worked fabrics like nobody else, the way we discovered
world trough his multi cultural rich collections -ten a year to be exact- and the way he moved
fashion into theatrical heaven. But what I don't need to explain is how he inspired other people
like, let's say a sixteen year old boy, living in Oviedo, studying in a catholic school but really
dreaming with studying in Saint Martins, like him
La increible Terremoto de Alcorcón, que por cierto tiene el show mas divertido del
mundo en "el Molino" del Paralel, también se pasó a pegarse unos bailes.
Y por último, nuestro amigo John estuvo por allí también.
Supongo que, tristemente, tengo que explicar esta foto. Pues bueno, es que John ha hecho
mucho y parece que, después de cuatro copas y una video-encerrona no es justo que se borre
todo su trabajo. Dejadme recordaros la magia con la que trabajaba las telas como
nadie, la manera en la que descubrimos mundo gracias a sus policulturales colecciones, diez
al año que se dice rápido, y la manera en la que acercó la teatralidad a la moda. Pero lo que
no se puede explicar, es como inspiraba a otras gente como, digamos un chico de 16 años que
vivia en Oviedo y en clase de Religion garabateaba bocetos y soñaba con estudiar en
Saint Martins, como él.
